Victory in 47 Campaign!

I want to thank everyone who has worked so hard on this campaign – particularly Andy, Nacho and Alan and all the students who made films and took pictures. After the cabinet meeting which agreed to save the term time service though contributing a subsidy, I asked the leader of Dorset County Council and the Cabinet member for Transport whether they would support a donation which had been anonymously offered by a member of the public to be used as a subsidy for the holiday (non college) service, as the cost of this service was lower than the amount of the donation offered. They agreed – but apparently Damory have met the difference themselves which is really good news for the sustainability of the service. This has been a really long campaign and I’m delighted that we have saved the weekday daytime and the peak-time service (now called the 40 not the 47) in its entirety.
